Fresh Cheena Murgi 1kg
Description
Cheena Murgi literally translates to ‘sugar hen’ in Hindi. It is a traditional Indian sweet from Bengal. It is made by kneading maida (refined flour), ghee/oil and milk into a firm dough. The dough is molded into fun hen and chick shapes. The shapes are deep fried until golden brown. The fried dough is then soaked in sugar syrup flavored with cardamom. As the hot cheena murgi soak up the syrup, they become soft and fluffy on the inside with a crisp, crunchy exterior.Cheena Murgi are typically golden brown in color with a crystalline sugar coating. The hen and chick shapes look very realistic. They have a mildly sweet taste and spongy, porous texture. The cardamom adds nice aromatic touch. These fried sweets are popular for festivals, celebrations and gifting in Bengal. They have a long shelf life and are often packaged in decorative boxes.
