Description
Motichoor Ladoo are small, round, golden-colored balls made from gram flour (besan) and sugar syrup. They have a flaky, crumbly texture on the outside and are soft and sweet on the inside.To make them, besan is mixed with ghee/oil and water to form a dough. The dough is then rolled into tiny balls and deep fried to form boondi. The boondi are then simmered in sugar syrup flavored with cardamom to absorb the syrup and plump up.Once cooled, the syrup-coated boondi balls are shaped into round laddus. They are often garnished with sliced almonds and pistachios.Motichoor laddus have a very sweet yet slightly nutty flavor. The gram flour gives them a subtle nuttiness while the cardamom provides a nice aromatic touch.These bite-sized golden sweetmeats are popular across India and are commonly made for festivals and celebrations. They can be stored for 2-3 weeks in an air-tight container.
