Description
Pachranga Soya Chaap is a vegetarian alternative to traditional goat chaap made using textured soy protein granules and wheat protein. It gets its name from the pachranga (five ingredients) spice blend used to flavor it – yogurt, tomato, ginger, garlic and mixed spices. The soya chaap contains no animal products and serves as a healthy, protein-rich meat substitute for vegetarians and vegans. It is marinated in the creamy pachranga curry made with the classic spice mix along with some oil and lemon juice. After letting the flavors seep in, the soya chaap pieces are cooked until the protein granules become soft and the marinade coats them fully. Whole spices like cloves, cinnamon and bay leaves are sizzled in oil and poured on top before serving. The finished dish has a rich sensory profile – delicious creamy texture punctuated with tangy tones and aromatic spices. It can be enjoyed with rice, breads or flatbreads. The soya chaap style curry replicates mutton curry but in a plant-based form.
